Seniors Visit Their Elementary School
On Monday, May 18th, 2026, the seniors took a trip to their old elementary schools that they attended. These schools included: Thomas Jefferson, Craig Williams, Lindstrom, Stephen Foster, and ILC. It was called the “Elementary Walk,” where we had to wear our caps and gowns. I know for most this was heart warming and a little bittersweet because it is very happy to see your progress as the years went on, but a bit sad to see everything you once loved-the place that helped shap

2026 Yearbook Review
I took a different approach to this yearbook review, so I asked people in the senior class what their thoughts on this year’s yearbook were, and there was a lot of controversy on it. The first person I interviewed about this year’s yearbook was Zaniah Simpson and this is what she had to say about it: “The yearbook has a good theme and is well organized but the yearbook has room for improvement. First, I believe that we shouldn't be using AI for our yearbook. The cover of the

Is Religion Worth It?
Many people frequently convert to Christianity, as it is the most common and popular religion. It is well known for its hospitality, forgiveness, and for a sense of motivation to go through challenges life throws at itself. However, like all religions, they have their own moral compass regarding what’s right and wrong. For example, choosing to forgive those who have wronged you and to love your enemies. There are controversial topics, like being against people within the LGBT

Teacher Spotlight: Mrs. Campbell
I decided to do a spotlight on Mrs. Campbell because even though I never had her as a teacher, she has been my teacher sponsor for my club for three years now. She has always been an extremely helpful and kind teacher throughout all of the years I have known her. Despite her busy schedule, she always manages to make time for Parable club and always provides her support which is something I am incredibly grateful for. I wanted to take this opportunity to learn more about her e

About Artemis II
Artemis II was a flyby mission around the moon that lasted 10 days. It was successfully completed in April 2026 which means that this is the first human mission to travel beyond our orbit since 1972. The people on the mission were Christina Koch, Jeremy Hansen, Victor Glover, and Reid Wiseman. These astronauts took the brave step of risking their lives to help expand space exploration and to test new systems that could have backfired in the name of science. They went on the O

Is Conversion Therapy Necessary?
As of recent, controversy has sparked regarding the legality of conversion therapy, if it should be outruled or not. Conversion therapy is known as an emotional or physical practice of “curing” one’s attraction to the same sex or their gender identity. Though there are still many mixed opinions from people who have done conversion therapy previously, it’s confirmed to not be a medically approved method. Despite it all, many parents tend to have their children do conversion t

A sophomore here at Mayfair, Ferrol Nkwenji, voiced her opinion on the BBQ. Q: Did you enjoy the experience? A: “No I did not. It was not what I was promised and it was not what was

Dear Margot: What should I do about my friends?
Dear Margot, my best friends are being rude to our new friend and won’t tell me why. What should I do? Dear reader, I’m very sorry to hear about that unfortunate situation. Tensions within a friend group, especially those closest to you can be extremely stressful and hurtful. However, I think that the best way to deal with this is by trying to speak with your best friends and ask them respectfully if there’s an issue going on in general or with the new friend specifically. Teacher Spotlight: Mr. McCabe
I got the opportunity to speak to Mr. McCabe about his teaching and personal life. He was my former Biology teacher and I chose to do a spotlight on him because he taught one of my favorite classes during my freshman year. I asked him a series of questions so we could learn more about him beyond his school life. Q: What did you do prior to teaching? A: “I thought that I would be a doctor so I got my undergraduate degree in neuroscience and then I worked at a lab in UC San Fra

USC Baseball Explodes with Historic Start
USC baseball had very high expectations after they finished last season with a 37-23 overall record and a conference record on 18-12 with key wins against number #14 UCLA and #22 TCU. Then after making a playoff to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2015 they beat TCU in regionals before getting eliminated by Oregon State in the regional final. Even though they had very promising feats and a solid record, fans didn’t expect for them to do that much better the next
