Student Spotlight: Isabela "Izzy" Linares

Izzy Linares is a huge contributor to Mayfair high school with all the activities she is currently involved in. Some of the activities she’s involved with include ASB and beach volleyball. Izzy is on the varsity girls volleyball team as a middle hitter. A few interesting facts about Izzy is her favorite color is navy blue, her favorite food is chicken caesar salad and her favorite movie is “How to Lose a Guy in 10 days”.

Q: How long have you been at Mayfair?

A: “I've been at Mayfair for six years.”

Q: What sports/activities/clubs are you currently involved in at Mayfair? 

A: “I’m involved in girls varsity volleyball, beach volleyball, ASB, Link Crew, YBS, Red Cross club and Spanish club as the media coordinator.”

Q: What do you like to do in your spare time?

A: “In my spare time I love to work out, hang out with friends, go to work and sing at my church.”

Q: What do you love about Mayfair?

A: “I love the people and football games.”

Q:What has been your favorite class you're taking this year?

A: “My favorite class this year is ASB.”

Q: Who is someone that has inspired you throughout your time at Mayfair?

A: “Someone who has inspired me throughout my time at Mayfair is my teacher Mr. Guerra because he’s an honest person and taught me that it’s okay to make mistakes, as long as you’re trying your best.”

Q: What is your advice to future seniors?

A: “Stop comparing yourself to other people. Everyone's path is going to look different and that's okay. Also enjoy every little moment. Time flies!”

One of Izzy’s close teammates, Kayla Montes says “Izzy is someone who is driven by what she does. She will push herself and others to be the best they can, Personally she is compassionate. She will always be there for you and help you in any ways she can. She always has a positive mind and will never think of the negative.”
