Seniors Visit Their Elementary School

On Monday, May 18th, 2026, the seniors took a trip to their old elementary schools that they attended. These schools included: Thomas Jefferson, Craig Williams, Lindstrom, Stephen Foster, and ILC. It was called the “Elementary Walk,” where we had to wear our caps and gowns.

I know for most this was heart warming and a little bittersweet because it is very happy to see your progress as the years went on, but a bit sad to see everything you once loved-the place that helped shape you into the person you are today and are still becoming-to be just a memory in time. For some people, this was the day when it actually hit them that this is the finish line, but also a start for a new beginning, ending one chapter of their life to begin another chapter. When life gets harder and they actually have to endure the world for what it is, and you start making real adult decisions. 

When walking up to my elementary school, it felt amazing to be back and to see a few of my old teachers, and other administrators who helped me along the way. When it was time to enter the campus, I remember we had to form a single file line, and I was talking to the people around me about how we used to cut the line to be in the front to be the line leader. We sat and reminisced on old memories from elementary school and the kids we used to be. 

We went student by student to tell a favorite memory we have from elementary school, give advice to the students, and our future plans after high school. I remember some students said having an actual playground while others said playing kickball. I know my favorite memory was talking at lunch and getting in trouble with the lunch lady who was on duty to watch us. 

After we all talked, we had a chance to walk around and visit old teachers' classrooms. Many of us took pictures on the playground and actually got to play. I played tether ball and it was so fun. It was nice to reminisce about the good old times. 

To the seniors, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves on their elementary school trips!
