Thank you for your continued belief in me even from when I was a shy freshman. It's been so fulfilling and comforting being with you as a senior, too. I remember my first presentation for you in freshman year, my voice was wavering the whole time and I took such an awkward amount of time on my points---and now, in the latest presentation I've given this senior year, I was surprised at how, despite being in the same exact spot as I had been three years prior, I was able to not only deliver my points clearly, but also to truly be myself. When I sat back down after that final presentation, I knew that much of that confidence must be attributed to your encouragement and confidence in me. Since meeting you, I've always admired your intelligence and the self-assured way with which you carry yourself, and I imagine that even in adulthood I will continue to admire these traits. I realized that I wanted to learn everything I can about this world, about everything that anyone in all of time has ever wondered about... And though that isn't possible, it has made me want to pursue as much education as I can, a feeling which is now a fundamental passion for me. –Lizelle Grace Simbulan

Given that you have retired and pretty much cut off all contact with us I'm fairly certain you will never see this, but I hold so much fondness for you even if I only knew you for a year. Music, out of all of my hobbies, has always been difficult for me. I joined the marching band originally for a friend and, truthfully, for a spot in my extracurriculars section. But your supreme kindness and patience, as well as your clear appreciation for my dedication, pushed me to truly become devoted to it. I remember that day where I was the only one who showed up for an optional practice, and despite the broad space between your office and the upright piano and the anxious pianissimo I was playing in I knew that you heard each and every mistake. "He must be so annoyed," I thought, "And he'll kick me off of synth once he realizes how bad I am," but when you later praised me for the work I put in, I felt for the first time true appreciation for effort, and not just superficial pride for my achievements. –Lizelle Grace Simbulan
