The U.S. Women's Olympic hockey team has been participating in every single Olympics Winter games since the first women’s game in 1998. The U.S. has won a total of three gold medals, four silver medals, and one bronze medal. The U.S. women's team has been one of the most successful hockey teams in every international play. This year’s Olympic Winter game has been chaotic, creating history and controversy. The men’s team was bashing the women’s team, laughing at them and not supporting them publicly, yet they supported them privately by complimenting their techniques and giving them hugs after their game. People online shared their opinions on this, giving backlash to the men for accepting the invitation to meet with Trump and joking about the women’s team. Fans didn’t find any of Trump's jokes funny, but all because they weren’t. The U.S women’s hockey captain responded to the joke saying it was “distasteful and unfortunate.”

It’s unfair that they were invited to the State of the Union after they had invited the men, yet Trump shouldn’t have gotten involved as it only ruined the fair victory they were sharing.  They declined the invitation quickly after receiving it, as anyone else should. Two players from the teams were invited on Saturday Night Live (SNL): the Hughes brothers, Megan Keller, and Hilary Knight. The crowd went wild once the two women walked on stage as they walked confidently as the Hughes brothers got booed. The women joked about the men's team, making reference to the men's team joking with Trump, noting the fact they’ve won medals in every year that they played resulting in more medals than the men. They left the men flustered and embarrassed. The men have finally won the medal after 46 years, while the women got it after eight years.
