The Quill is a magazine made by Mayfair High School’s creative writing class. The magazine includes a variety of pages full of poems from students of the creative writing class, either worked on together or by themselves, and also includes Mayfair Writing Center contest winners’ Valentine’s Day and Halloween poems. They have been making The Quill every year, and this year’s magazine for the creative writing class of 2025-2026 is a new edition to the collection.

The pages displayed have so many different kinds of unique poems. From haikus to odes to free verse poems, some of them are deep, humorous, or just leaves a sweet message. The themes of the poems connect the reader with the author, to make them laugh, leave them emotional, or with reflection related to the message the author is trying to convey. Each page has diverse styles and illustrations, from the cover to the very back of the magazine. Every design is a glimpse of every student’s personality, trait, hobby, or interest they’re into.

The Quill is definitely more than just a student-made magazine. It introduces the work and passion each person puts into their poem. All of the pages are special and creative in their own way. Even if they’re all different, each page and poem connects them through the magazine.
