Senior Sunrise 2026-2027
On Monday, August 31, 2026, the Class of 2027 seniors had their Senior Sunrise at the Lions Lighthouse in Long Beach from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., an event announced by @mayfairco27 on Instagram. For those who may not know, Senior Sunrise is an annual senior tradition at Mayfair High School. It wakes seniors up early and to kick off the beginning of the school year with their friends at the back of the gym. This year, however, the event was requested to be at a different location due to construction on the sports field. The Lions Lighthouse in Long Beach was chosen as the new spot, meaning every senior had to wake up early and drive out to Long Beach.
At the Lighthouse, seniors gathered with their friends, talking and enjoying each other’s company before the sun rose. Students ate breakfast, brought chairs and blankets to relax on, and even created hand-made, colorful posters, ready for photos.
As the sky grew brighter, the sun in a clear, unclouded cloud. Seniors quickly headed down the hills to take photos with their friends holding their unique posters. Some seniors mentioned how the previous senior classes missed out on a sunrise and got a cloudy sunrise instead. They also expressed how grateful they were to see such a beautiful sunrise.
In conclusion, Senior Sunrise is a remarkable tradition that you will remember forever with your friends and classmates. Even though going to school after Senior Sunrise was tiring, but after everything you experienced-and reminiscing about it later when you're tired-makes it worth it.
