On September 11, 2001, at 5:45 AM Mohamed Atta and Abdul Aziz al-Omari, two of the hijackers, had passed through security at the airport. They then boarded American Airlines Flight 11. The plane finally takes off from Boston headed to Los Angeles, California. There were 76 passengers, 11 crew members and there were 5 hijackers on board. The second plane, United Airlines Flight 175, took off at 8:15 AM, also leaving Boston headed to Los Angeles. On that plane there were 51 passengers, 9 crew members and 5 hijackers on board. At 8:24 AM,  Mohamed Atta, one of the hijackers on Flight 11, had alerted air controllers in Boston to start the attack but he had accidentally pressed it. He was supposed to press the button that allowed him to talk to the passengers on his flight. Suddenly at 8:46 AM, Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Centers North Towers and all passengers were instantly killed and the employees were trapped above the 91st floor. Then at 9:03 AM, Flight 175 crashed into the WTC Souths Tower which instantly killed all innocent people, kids, and crew members. It also killed an unknown number of people in the tower. Two minutes later, President Geroge W. Bush was informed about the hit on the second tower while he was reading a story to kids in Florida. Then at 9:59 AM, the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed killing the innocent people. Then at 10:28 AM, the north towers of the World Trade Center collapsed.  The attacks killed 2,976 people and injured thousands more including eight innocent children. There were more killed, but the count is unknown since they couldn’t find their bodies. Today, many first responders are still dealing with adverse health effects from working in the toxic conditions that 9/11 had. Still many Americans are still beyond sad, and some are still affected after 9/11 had happened.
