On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, there was a wide range of electives available to look at during high school lunch. There were tables surrounding the school with representatives providing information about all the different electives that students can pick in their following high school years. There was a wide variety of different electives to pick from that can be to your particular interests.

For specifics, there were language electives like French and Mandarin that provided information about each language and how it is important to your high school career. Since it is mandatory for all high school students to take at least two years of a language, having these representatives showing the different language options was extremely insightful.

Another popular category were the CTE classes available to take during the school year, after school, or even during the summer. There were classes like construction, patient care technician, retail marketing, and other CTE options that the representatives spoke about. There were also CalAPs representatives that spoke about the many different afterschool programs that students can take. There are classes available such as culinary arts, automotive, stage production, CSI, and plenty of other options to pick from. For students who want to take a class that isn’t offered at the school and still earn elective credits, CalAPs are a great option to look at.

For more advanced classes, there were teachers who spoke about AP classes like AP African American Studies, AP Psychology, AP Computer Science, and more. Having these AP class options available can help further students' academic careers and will bring a challenge to their school work. Other classes like ethnic studies are available for those who want an alternative history class as well.

There were also more creative classes like Journalism, Academic Leadership, and other similar electives available to find out more information about. These classes help students grow and improve their writing skills while also having fun learning with their peers.

Overall, the Elective Fair provided a lot of opportunities to do electives that peak your interests for next school year. Since a lot of students are meeting with their counselors soon, it was a great time to learn more about what classes are available for the following school year.
