I asked a series of questions:

How were the first two weeks overall? Favorite teacher, why? What's your favorite subject?

First up, we have a Browning student from Long Beach; Bianca, a 10th grader, comments, “Overall the two weeks were very stressful because of being around new people and being in a higher grade. My favorite teacher is Ms. Patheal, because she ran the first year of the Class of 2024 meeting, and she's a good teacher… My favorite subject is actually English!”

Next, we have a student from Long Beach Polytechnic High School; Megan, a 10th grader, states, “The first 2 weeks of high school were very easy to get accommodated to and overall a smooth slide into how I believe the rest of the experience will be for me. I do feel (the first weeks) to be stressful, though. As for me, my favorite teacher has to be Mr. Scott, my world history teacher! I can tell that he has a lot of wisdom to share, and I find myself to be very trusting and comfortable with him due to his welcoming and positive energy overall…. My favorite subject is typically English, but it all depends on the teacher.”

Lastly, we have a fellow Mayfair Monsoon; Basil, a 12th grader, mentions, “(These weeks have been) tiring; I had to run around for school and for my family. Two, Mr. Boss, I had him last year, and he’s pretty sporadic, so there’s always something unexpected happening… (My favorite subject is) art.”
