Dear Margot,

“After some drama with one friend, it feels like my entire friend group has slowly turned against me. I’m left out of plans, group chats, and it’s like they’ve all picked sides without even hearing me out. Should I try to fix things or just move one, even though it hurts to start over?”

Hey, reader! That does seem like a troublesome situation. To move on and restart with a new group of people can definitely be scary, and quite frankly, nobody would want to do that. However, if your friends really are not giving you any space for your voice, then it may be for the best. Before that thought, I believe that you should take time to think about it. Consider the pros and cons of sticking with your friends, and weigh them out to see which one comes out on top. If the cons outweigh the pros, then it might be time to move on. However, if you think that there’s still a chance for you to re-integrate, don’t be afraid to make your voice heard. I don’t know what your personality is like, but you have to be strong in your disposition, otherwise they might still dismiss you.

One final thing. Although they’re your friends, you don’t need to feel so attached to them. If they still persist, then starting over might be for the best. There are many more people to meet, and finding a new friend group might not be as hard as you think.

Hope this helps!
