On Tuesday, January 27, it was announced the Buffalo Bills have now promoted their offensive coordinator Joe Brady to head coach on a five-year deal. Joe Brady is replacing Sean McDermott after he was fired right after the Bills got eliminated by the Denver Broncos in the AFC round of the playoffs.

In 2022, he joined the Bills team as the quarterback’s coach. Joe Brady was then promoted with the offensive coordinator position in 2023 and has served as the youngest of his position as the NFL’s youngest offensive coordinator at the age of 36. Since they promoted Brady on week 11 of 2023, the Bills have been ranked first in the EPA per play. The bills have had nine games with more than 30 points as of this season and have been tied with the Rams for most of the NFL.

The Buffalo Bills offense broke many records for the most points and touchdowns in a season in the franchise’s history in 2024. The Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, won his very first MVP award in 2024 and their running back, James Cook III, finished with the rushing title in 2025. Brady had interviewed for a plethora of head coach positions over the past few years and he was the first applicant that the Bills interviewed. Not only has Josh Allen spoken in favor of Brady but so have many other offensive players for the Bills.

We now have to wait and see what’s in store for the Bills next season with the help of their new head coach, Joe Brady.
