The Struggle in Iran

Since December 28th 2025, the protests in Iran have been an ongoing thing, resulting in the deaths of approximately over 12,000 people, along with a brutal crackdown, with authorities firing at unarmed protesters. All of these people wanted to protest against inflation and unemployment, rightfully so, as it has been an issue since after the 1979 revolution. However, their leader seems to be taking action in the worst ways possible, saying rioters 'must be put in their place’. However, Trump has been watching over the situation, exchanging threats with Iran’s leader before warning him that the US will come to their rescue if Ali Khamenei continues to let innocent protesters perish. Which is pretty disappointing, as Trump has yet to actually acknowledge what ICE has truly been up to, since they are practically doing just about the same thing as authorities in Iran. The amount of deaths that have occurred is deeply saddening, and my condolences go out to all the families and friends that are currently grieving the loss of a loved one in Iran. Along with those that currently have detained loved ones, as the top Iran prayer leader requests for detained protestors to be given the death penalty. Hopefully though, they do not decide to go through with this due to what Trump had warned if the protestors were met with violence. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he did or didn’t either way, given he neglects the amount of violence ICE has brought towards civilians, immigrants or not. But either way, no one should ever have to be met with such brutal amounts of force, or discrimination.Â
