Prom 2025

Prom is one of the most anticipated and memorable events of senior year. After months of planning, shopping, and securing transportation, the night finally arrived, and it was well worth the wait. Here’s a look at everything that happened during Prom 2025.

7:30-8:00 PM

Before the doors opened for the reception at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, guests began to arrive in their fantastic outfits—some even arriving in eccentric, showy cars. The crowd started to stack, and finally the moment everyone has been waiting for—the grand opening.

8:00-10:00 PM

Inside the reception, there were three main rooms: a game room, a lounge area, and the main dance floor. The game room was packed with fun activities, including arcade machines, pool tables, a 360 photo booth, and a photo setup. The lounge served as the quiet entry space, illuminated by a bright “Prom 2025” sign and a snack bar stocked with tasty treats and refreshing strawberry lemonade. Finally, the dance floor, which was set up where the theater usually is, was completely transformed with flashing lights, loud music, and an unforgettable crowd.

10:00-10:30 PM

The moment everyone had been waiting for finally arrived: the crowning of Prom King and Queen. Kalel Lima was announced as Prom King and Kylee Thompkins as Prom Queen. We interviewed both winners for their thoughts on this momentous occasion.

Prom King, Kalel Lima:

1. How did it feel to be announced Prom King?

“It felt amazing to win Prom King, especially since I’ve never won any of these homecoming titles. I didn’t really have any hope that I was going to have a chance at winning Prom King, especially with who I was running against, but I'm very grateful for whoever voted for me that night. I hope you are just as happy as I am.”

2. Will this be a memorable moment in your life?

“This will most definitely be a memorable moment in my life. Hearing Ms. McAndrew call out my name to win the title, my reaction was priceless. I was so shocked I looked over at Kylee in disbelief, and she was cheering so happily for me. I’m glad I got to share this moment with her. Kylee and I have been friends since elementary school, so being able to come this far with her means so much to me.”

Prom Queen, Kylee Thompkins:

1. How did it feel to be announced prom queen?

“It felt insane; I just felt so grateful. I’ve had a great time at this school, and I really do have a lot of love for everyone around!”

2. Will this be a memorable moment in your life?

“Absolutely, I’ll remember this forever.” Through the rest of the night, an announcement everyone was glad and satisfied with the results of Prom King and Queen, with these two amazing individuals being the ones who entered this honor.

As the night came to a close, many guests lingered outside the reception area—waiting for rides, chatting about where to go next, or simply taking a moment to cool down after all the excitement. Whether it was someone’s first dance or their final one, prom offered a once-in-a-lifetime experience filled with unforgettable memories. Prom 2025 did not disappoint.
