Mayfair High School’s Fall Choir Concert showcased the amazing talent of the student singers through the variety of songs they performed. They all sounded heavenly and it was amazing to hear. The concert featured Polyphonix, Mariners, and Showtime, giving each group an opportunity to showcase their amazing voices and talent through lovely songs.

After Mrs. Campbell introduced the first group, Polyphonix, they took the stage to open the show. Some of the songs they performed were “Angus Dei,” with music by Rollo Dilworth. They followed with another song, “Route 66,” arranged by Roger Emerson, and they both sounded amazing.

Next was Mariners, which is the all-girls choir group, and they performed “Down to the River,” arranged by Jace Wittg. The group also featured soloists Miranda Almodovar, Sophia Flores Cardenas, Hannika De Guzman, and Juliana Henderson. After that, they continued with “If the River Leaves Without Me,” written by Reena Esmail, featuring soloists Sofia Flores Cardenas and Juliana Reviczky. Then, they performed the song “Sigue,” with music by Ivette Herryman. With that, they finished and bowed to the audience.

The concert then continued on with Showtime, which performed “Words,” music and lyrics done by Anders Edenroth. Their performance featured soloists Tori Fortuna, Jaidan Guevarra, Jhe Harrison, and Richard Hernandez. Then, they performed “To sit and Dream,” arranged by Rosephanye Powell. This performance was followed by “Fortes Fortuna,” and that was arranged by Daniel Gutierrez. Katie Cummings and Xyla Acevedo were featured as soloists, and I think that they performed beautifully. I loved each and every one of their performances!

The concert also included a raffle for all the people who came. There were also faculty thank-yous for their support and contributions to the program, which I thought was really sweet. This moment gave the community an opportunity to recognize the people who helped make those beautiful performances that we all just watched.

Another highlight of the concert was that they announced their official website, mayfairmaritime.org, which is so exciting because it gives people the opportunity to learn more about the program. The concert ended with Mrs. Campbell combining all of the choirs and let them perform “When Our Voices Rise!” Her bringing the whole group together for the last performance was amazing to witness. The concert was incredible the entire time because of the singers and how they all performed. It was simply wonderful to watch, and I would gladly attend their next concert.
