Dear Margot, “How do you build strong friendships and relationships?”

Numerous people, especially nowadays, struggle with keeping or finding friendships and relationships. Even if someone starts to develop friendships or relationships, it can feel fake and overwhelming at times. Obviously, that isn’t always the case. There are many ways to build strong friendships and relationships.

It’s always best to communicate and share opinions honestly, this can always help with becoming more comfortable. If you take the time to listen to each other without judging or jumping to conclusions quickly, it’ll make both parties feel secure. Having boundaries and leaving personal space for each other can keep everyone from being upset and awkward. Handling conflicts in a respectful manner can help better understand sides and can avoid conflicts from happening.

There are still multiple ways to elevate both friendships and relationships. It’s always important to have some sort of time to hang out or at least check on your friend, family member, or partner because you never know if they might need someone’s aid in any way they can get. Being yourself and letting others be themselves around you is a great way to find out if you are compatible with each other or need to find other individuals who’ll suit you better. Always distancing yourself from gossiping or having drama in your relationships can save it and will help with avoiding worse consequences. It’s definitely best to include a friend in activities or conversations, just so they never feel left out.

It’s not always easy to keep relationships today, but hopefully this advice will help out. You can always find your people or your someone in the right places. It’s always best to force or push relationships that aren’t meant to be.
