Día de los Muertos Symposium

On October 29th, AP and Spanish III students showcased their boards and projects of the Días de los Muertos and the creativity was beyond great. Many students took plenty of time on their projects and dedication to achieve a presentable poster. A student stated, “Actually, I thought it would've taken a lot longer than it did, we only took, like, three class days and then my partner worked on it once outside of those days.” Another student says, “It took us about two weeks to finish.” Although some of the students' projects didn’t take as long as expected, some others did. One student stated, “It took me and my partner about three hours to finish the project.” Overall, the project was somewhat time consuming to some and fairly quick to others. The students still loved the project itself and a few stated that, “I definitely would do this project again.” and “ I would definitely do this again, it gave me a chance to meet a lot of new people and become friends with more people. Overall, I really liked this project and I hope I can do it again.” The Spanish teacher for this project, Sra. Kodesh stated, “I’m very proud of how our students are presenting. They are very eager to present, they look very professional, their posters are beautiful, and then all the students that are coming to our event they are very respectful and very eager to listen to the other students presentations, so I’m super excited to have this opportunity to share the Hispanic history and, you know, knowledge about Día de los Muertos with the rest of our school.” This year's Día de los Muertos presentation was informative and one to remember and I am positive that our schools’ students are definitely going to look forward to next year's Día de los Muertos.
