Singing Valentines is an event in which both middle and high school students perform for our school community by going from classroom to classroom singing a song from a group of their choosing to a friend or sweetheart. This has been a practice at Mayfair for almost 60 years.
When students buy a Singing Valentine, they can choose between a song ($3), a song with a balloon ($5), a song with a flower ($5), or a song with a bouquet and balloon ($10). Additionally, when a student buys a Singing Valentine, it automatically comes with a pink paper that should have the first and last name of the person that you chose with whichever period you want it sent to and the room number of that classroom. You can also put a handwritten note of something silly or heartfelt. If you want to send a singing valentine to a friend outside of Mayfair or a family member, you can purchase a phone call where the group you chose sings to that person over the phone.
How do you buy Singing Valentines?
You can purchase them during middle and high school lunch outside the MPB in front of the big M or after school with the volunteer parents with either Venmo, cash, or a check.
What is the money used for, though?
The money is then used to support our choir program. The money is used in many ways to help fund students for what they may need; for example, it helps them pay for their competition, it helps them pay for their banquet, and it helps to buy costumes and uniforms for upcoming performances.
Sending a singing valentine is a fun way to surprise and show someone that you love them as well as being a fun way to embarrass your friends. The last day to purchase is February 12, 2026.
