High school is an experience that everyone goes through in their life, and every teen starts to turn into a free individual with their own interests and desires in life. During high school, most people want to join a team or a club that fits their interests or makes their college application look good. Club Rush is one of those days where, at lunch, you can find something you like or want to do—something that fits your interests.
During this day, multiple clubs will try to get you to join and experience hanging out with other people who share your interests. People get invested in these clubs, like Matthew, who says, "My experience is going good, and I like the variety of the different clubs. My favorites right now are the E-Sports and Theater clubs." Teachers also share the same positive experiences. Students and teachers alike enjoy seeing people wanting to join a club that makes them happy. Mr. Wiz says, "Club Rush is a good opportunity to socialize and a great way to network and build a good resume. Clubs are just a good way for people to be happy."
Teachers and students both respect this day, where people can join clubs, and both groups share the same idea of fun. In my experience, talking to the people running the booths to sign up for clubs was a joyful experience because I was able to see their perspective as they tried to recruit people and get them involved in something they liked. In these clubs, I first talked to the Latino club. One of the members, Robbie, said, "Latino club is about the celebration of Latino culture, and it's an experience that anyone can join. Sometimes we pass out candy during the holidays too." I also talked to the Filipino club, and they said, "Filipino clubs learn about the culture and language of their culture and embrace it," as explained by Alyssa.
These clubs that promote their culture are easily respectable. Other clubs, like the theater club, focus on stage production. Julia said, "The Theater club talks about how you can join as part of the stage production crew. I like the community and having fun being there."
Overall, Club Rush is a great way to join something that makes you happy and a good way to add to your college resume. Talking to the different clubs and taking photos made Club Rush the best experience I have had this month at school.
