On January 10th, 2026, the NFL kicked off the postseason with its first wildcard game against bitter division rivals the Chicago Bears vs the Green Bay Packers. The game at halftime had a very lopsided score with the Green Bay Packers leading 21-3 over the Chicago Bears. During those two quarters, the Bears struggled offensively with only managing a field goal and Caleb Williams throwing for 122 yards and throwing an interception. Meanwhile, the Packers thrived offensively with Jordan Love throwing for 231 yards and three touchdowns.

After that halftime break, nothing really happened offensively with both Green Bay and Chicago struggling to score. The only scoring that happened was a Bears field goal five minutes in to make it 21-6. But after this quarter, it was like a flip of a switch where the Bears exploded offensively with a slow start. They had a field goal two minutes into the fourth quarter to make it 21-9. Plus, with offensive struggles with the Packers, they were forced to punt four times in a row. Then with that, the Bears took advantage and scored a touchdown with a six yard pass to D’Andre Swift to make it 21-16. Then the Packers responded with a 23 yard touchdown pass to Matthew Golden to make it 27-16, but it did not happen. The reason why it's not 28-16 is because their kicker, Brandon McManus, missed the extra point making it his second missed kick of the night.

After that road bump, the Chicago Bears responded with an eight yard touchdown to Olamide Zaccheaus to make it 27-22, but then Caleb Williams converted on the two point try to have Colston Loveland make it 27-24. Then after that, the Packers drove down the and set up Brandon McManus for a 44 yard attempt and he missed it wide right. After that missed kick, the Bears made a drive down the field and made a 25 yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore to make the score 31-27 with the Chicago Bears in the lead. In the end, Jordan Love fumbled a shotgun snap at the 25 yard line and recovered, but ultimately it was an incomplete pass in the endzone meaning the Bears had just beat the Packers for the first time in the playoffs since 1941.

This win made the city of Chicago alive with people setting off fireworks and even people running outside to celebrate with their neighbors. After the win Rome Odunze made a quote."I ran onto the field and just felt relief," Odunze said. "Like, 'Wow, we really did it.' Definitely a win that will go down in history, and we're not done." Caleb Williams also made a quote. "It felt great to have my first playoff win with these guys," Williams said. "It felt great being able to fight the way we did and come out victorious." Also, Caleb Williams was trolling the Packers after the game by wearing a cheese grater hat and shredding cheese in a form of mockery against the “cheeseheads” that Packers fans wear.

Overall, this was an incredible game with the next round having the Bears face against the Los Angeles Rams in Chicago with many players and fans hoping to keep the Bears season alive.
