On November 22, 2024, the film adaptation of the Broadway musical Wicked came out, starring Ariana Grande as Glinda the Good Witch; and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp, the Wicked Witch of the West. And recently, on September 26, 2025, the trailer for the 2nd part, “Wicked: For Good,” directed by Jon M. Chu, came out and will be in theaters November 21, 2025.

First off, the trailer really showcases the wonderful beauty of Oz, so I think that the set looks fantastic, and the costumes of Glinda and Elphaba look really nice and well put together. I also want to mention how amazing Cythia and Ariana's vocals sound in the trailer, and I think the performance in the movie will be great. I also want to say how the trailer shows how the friendship between Glinda and Elphaba from their past is really strong and how they still value each other, but now they are supposed to be enemies because Elphaba is seen as the Wicked Witch of the West and a traitor to Oz and Emerald City, while Glinda is the Good Witch.

Towards the middle of the trailer, you can see that Madam Morble is forming a tornado, which I'm guessing is the tornado that had brought Dorothy to Oz in the original story. We also do see a glimpse of Dorothy, although we do not see her actual face. Another thing is that Fiero is now the captain of the guard and actually gets engaged and marries Galinda. We also get a glimpse of the iconic yellow brick road, and Elphaba then touches some pieces of the yellow brick road. But overall the attention to the detail of every little thing, from the costumes to the set and props and the symbolism that they show, is amazing.

What I love about this trailer is how well the director showcases everything and the amazing talent that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo bring to the table, and you can really tell how incredibly hard they worked. Watch the trailer for yourself:
