On April 26, 2019, one of the most groundbreaking movies of the decade, “Avengers: Endgame,” was released as the sequel to “Avengers: Infinity War.” “Endgame” concluded Phase Three of the Infinity saga, a collection of movies and series published by Marvel over several years. The movie featured an emotional story for fans who follow the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to The Numbers, “Avengers: Endgame” grossed $2,937,673,434 at the worldwide box office.

Nearly seven years later, the movie remains an impactful film in Marvel’s history and a must-watch for people who got into the MCU after Endgame's release. With the upcoming release of “Avengers: Doomsday” on Dec. 9th, 2025, Marvel announced that Endgame would return to theaters in September 2026. The re-release, titled “Avengers Endgame: Encore,” serves to connect the events of the movie directly to Doomsday. The Russo Brothers said both movies are heavily connected and “Encore” will include new and deleted scenes.

As of Sept. 25, 2026, “Encore” has quickly gone viral after its weekend opening. Numerous fans who went to see the movie recorded and shared online the added end-credits scenes, building interest and curiosity for “Doomsday.” For fans, the movie was more than just an experience. Rather, it was a memorable opportunity for fans to see their favorite heroes on the big screen again before the release of “Doomsday.”
