Student Spotlight: Natalia "Nata" Romero

As a varsity soccer player and the varsity flag football captain, Natalia Romero has made an impact on many people’s lives as a very driven person at Mayfair High School. Natalia has definitely made the most of her time at Mayfair in hopes to inspire future seniors and all students at Mayfair. 

Q: How long have you been at Mayfair?

A: “I’ve been at Mayfair for six years.”

Q: What sports/clubs/activities are you currently involved in?

A: “I’m currently in soccer, ASB, flag football and I will be joining another sport this spring.”

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: “I like to cook and be with my family in my spare time.”

Q: What do you love about Mayfair?

A: “My favorite thing about Mayfair is the people I’ve met through classes and sports and the bonds I’ve made.”

Q: What has been your favorite class you’ve taken this year?

A: “My favorite class this year would be ERW with Ms.Valenzuela. It's a very open class and it makes me feel comfortable being able to talk freely without judgement or anything.”

Q: Who is your favorite teacher?

A: “My favorite teacher is Ms. Valenzuela because she inspires me to think that there can still be good in any bad perspective.”

Q: What’s your advice to future seniors?

A: “To take everyday a moment at a time because it flies by before you know it. Don’t stress about the future, live in the present as much as you can. Stay on top of your college applications!”

Natalia’s soccer and flag football teammate, Valerie Silva says “Nata is a very bright and energetic person and brightens everyone’s mood by just being herself. She's hardworking and reliable. She puts all her effort into everything she does and makes the most of any situation, I'm sure everyone could agree she’s made a big impact on their lives.”

Flag football teammate and close friend, Delilah Madrigal says “Nata is honestly one of the sweetest people I know. She’s super kind, always caring, and you can tell she genuinely loves the people around her. She’s the type of friend who listens to you, supports you, and never makes you feel judged. Being around her just makes everything feel better.”

Close friend Ryann Gordon stated that, “Nata is always there to make sure the people around her feel important and understood. She is determined to do her best in everything she does and is always going to look at the bright side of things no matter how difficult they may be. She is an extremely supportive person and is going to make sure the people around her are comfortable being themselves."
