Prom 2026

    Mayfair High School had its senior and junior Prom night at 21 South Fullerton Airport. The upperclassmen’s big event went on from 7 to 11pm. The attendees were welcomed by the principal and all the high school counselors. Everyone had to go through a strict security check to ensure safety at the event. Overall, there was a wonderful setup at the airport hangar with a big food court and a DJ.

On the dance floor, many kids crowded around and danced to the music played. Everyone who attended seemed to have a great time with their prom dates, friends, or even by themselves. When I went to interview some of the couples on how prom is going and if they are having a good time, they all mentioned that they really enjoyed it and that they are glad that they came. One in particular said:

“I didn't think I would like it at first but now being with everyone all dancing and enjoying life im starting to enjoy it”- Angel Miranda.

Another common comment was, “This is the best event Mayfair has had in a while”.

Everyone I’ve interviewed, there was one negative comment mentioning that there should be more food and that it was boring.

Later on, teachers were taking pictures with their students and many of them were talking to the students about how proud that they got this far. When I talked to counselors and asked them how it feels to see all your students graduate they all replied with something a bit similar mentioning how proud of them and how much they have achieved. Furthermore, adding how the seniors have improved from being immature freshman to slowly becoming the young adults they are today and that even though there were challenges, they all worked through it and made it.
