With the NBA regular season in the books, the remaining teams are all in the hunt for something greater: to be the 2025 NBA champions. The playoff series is a best of 7 games; the first team to win 4 games advances to the next round. As of right now, it’s the first round of the playoffs, and the Knicks and Pistons are facing off for a chance at becoming a step closer to becoming the next world champions. With so much on the line for both teams, it’s more than likely this series will be one you won’t want to miss.
The New York Knicks finished the regular season winning 51 games and losing just 31, while the Pistons were 44-38. The Knicks were just as successful as they were last season, but for Detroit, this is a major improvement because last season they only won 14 games; in addition, they went on a 28-game losing streak. Now that the Pistons are a better team this season, the Knicks won’t have it easy if they want to advance to round 2.
As of right now, the New York Knicks have a 2-1 game advantage over the Detroit Pistons. All three games these two teams played have been nail-biters for everyone watching, no matter which team you were rooting for. Their games were decided within the final minutes, along with a major comeback from the Knicks that gave them a chance to win game 2. At times the game would get choppy, where you see minor pushing, shoving and trash talk.
With the series tied 1-1, game 3 was definitely set to be a very competitive game to watch. Once the game was over, the referees handed out 5 technical fouls and upgraded 1 foul to a flagrant penalty 1. This series is definitely an intense one, especially since both teams have so much to prove this playoff run. The Knicks took the win with 118-116 but had to WORK hard for the win. With the Knicks with the advantage, the Pistons are looking to bounce back and get the win at home on Sunday.
