Elon Musk's Recent Twitter Takeovers

The man of the hour is currently the one the only Elon Musk. The man who became the CEO of Tesla has officially bought Twitter and it has been..very interesting to say the least. Musk has recently been seen tweeting many different things, from his political views to random things that make you question his sanity. One of the political tweets that Musk created: “To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic”. His tweet is basically saying because the presidency is Democratic we should vote for the Republicans to win the positions in the House and Senate.

These tweets can be seen as advertisements that many people have previously seen, with candidates reaching certain audiences by saying to vote for them and their cause so they can “Make the state better”. This would be a good advertisement tactic if it wasn’t a very influential person who could possibly skew the way votes go. Though now that the mid elections are over, maybe it won’t influence much. Another thing that has been buzzing about Twitter and caused lots of attention towards the app is a statement from Mr. Musk that states users are able to buy the blue verification badge. This change has upset many different people as it’s being seen as a way to keep income coming in for Mr. Musk; seeing that $46 million dollars was lost when he purchased the app. Now even though this would seem bad in others eyes, Musk has been finding irony in all of this and even tweeting about it. He tweets that, “I love when people complain about Twitter…on Twitter”. I wonder how things are going to pan out in the coming months.

Even now there are comments from Mr.Musk talking about changing the blue verification mark on the app in the coming months to add something “different” to the app. Though that wouldn’t make it any much more different because now it is known as “Twitter Blue”. Where you can just spend $8 and get the verified badge and thus become verified. This is another thing that Mr. Musk has created and though many like it, others not so much. Especially when they worked hard for that badge before Mr. Musk took over. Although the company is not a complainer but sees the interesting treatment, YouTube has even come to tweet, “Drop your fav unverified creators so we can show them some love”. The tweet could be something that could potentially start a problem, but in fact others a better outcome to those small creators.

No one expected Elon Musk to go on this rampage of tweeting randomness and to even push the “Twitter Blue” this hard going to even add a shirt for it, but alas it has happened and there isn’t much people can do to stop others from feeding in. However, we can strongly recommend that people stay safe and away from Twitter for as long as humanly possible. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
