In the mornings, do you eat breakfast or do you just wait until lunch or dinner? If you do eat breakfast, nice job! Studies show that breakfast can in fact benefit not only your physical, but your mental health! Technically, when you wake up in the mornings, you probably haven’t eaten anything for 8-10ish hours. This can leave you feeling very starved in the morning as most people eat their meals within short proximity – with dinner being an exception.
In a report published by the Better Health Channel, “Eating breakfast boosts your energy levels and restores your glycogen levels; ready to keep your metabolism up for the day”. This is very important because without a proper breakfast/no breakfast at all, your body will be left unprepared for a sudden intake of large amounts of food later on. In my personal experience as well, I noticed that whenever I eat something out of nowhere in the middle of the day, I usually feel full despite not eating for several hours.
Now, eating breakfast can benefit a person in more ways than one, such as providing you with energy and important nutrients for the first couple of hours of the day, controlling your weight, and lowering the risk of diseases. It is recommended by Medical News Today that you eat things like eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, and berries for breakfast. However, eating things like pancakes, french toast, and waffles is okay to do as well. Finally, make sure to eat your breakfast! It may not be the most important meal of the day, but it is extremely important that you do eat your breakfast!
