On April 22, 2025, the Yamaha Corporation of America building in Buena Park revealed its newly renovated building which cost $34 million dollars in total. Mayfair’s band had the great opportunity of touring their facilities with many different employees and representatives at the Yamaha company. First we walked into a lobby room that had many different models of instruments like synthesizers, drumkits, grand pianos, and guitars.

We were then taken to another building where they had a workshop where they made and repaired instruments with Mr. Jeff Peterson. He explained to us how he got into the business and who he has worked for such as Beyonce and Lady Gaga for their horn lines during their tour. He also explained to us how they use liquid nitrogen to give silver trumpets a better sound by dipping it into a deep freezer that has to be exactly -300℉. They also showed their room where they test instruments and it was very cool. It had the ability to change the sound of the room where at one point the sound barely travels, and then there’s a mode where it sounds like you're in a cavern.

They then brought us back into the main building where they showed us their office space that looked very comfortable. They then explained to us that not many people come into the office on Mondays and Wednesdays because they give them the option to work from home on those days. Afterwards, they brought us into their conference room where they talked more on the business side of it where they explained the marketing side of how the company moves and how important it is working with people like band directors and life-long customers. They also showed how they had a paid internship program where you did more than just get coffee and restock. Instead, you would contribute to meetings and share ideas.

Overall, the Yamaha tour was a great experience as a musician. But even if you're not a musician, I can see this facility making you interested in the music industry because it’s not just classical musical instruments, it's so much more. To end this off if you ever get an opportunity to visit this facility I highly recommend doing so.
