Enhypen was established in 2020 through the reality competition series I-LAND, and it made its debut with the first being Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki. Enhypen's debut album is the first mini album, BORDER:DAY ONE, released on November 30th, 2020, featuring the title track "Given-Taken." This album talked about the complex emotions as they transitioned from trainees to artists. It has been a big and amazing year for Enhypen. In April 2025 they made their U.S. television debut by performing on Jimmy Kimmel Live. That same month they also appeared for their first time at Coachella, the music festival. And then in summer 2025 for the U.S. leg of their Walk the Line World Tour. Their latest album The Sin: Vanish was released in January 2025 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 for the 1st time. Then suddenly Heeseung, the main vocalist of Enhypen, decided to step away. Heeseung is leaving ENHYPEN to pursue his own solo career.
According to Billboard, Heeseung is preparing his solo music debut, and he will continue to be represented by BELIFT LAB. Many of EGENES are so upset with his sudden leave because a couple days prior to this announcement, he was saying how he wants to stay with his members and how he was so excited to perform in Australia with all of them.
The media are saying why Heeseung had to leave just to pursue a solo career while other groups like BTS, TXT, and many others had made their solo debut while staying in their group.
Others are blaming the company, claiming they “forced” it out and saying that his company is known for kicking their members out and putting them on hiatus. Personally I think Heeseung leaving was so uncalled for; as an EGENE of 5 years, I wouldn't ever have thought he would leave. We are willing to support Heeseung with his solo.
